Номіналізація
Номіналізація перетворює дієслова й прикметники на іменники. Текст стає офіційнішим, стислішим і обʼєктивнішим, тому вона типова для академічної та ділової англійської.

Типові закінчення іменників
- -tion / -sion: decide → decision, reduce → reduction
- -ment: develop → development, improve → improvement
- -ance / -ence: perform → performance, exist → existence
- -ity / -ness: able → ability, aware → awareness
- Та сама форма: increase, change, rise, delay, use

Типові помилки
- ✗ The develop of the city is fast.✓ The development of the city is fast.Іменник від дієслова develop має форму development.
- ✗ We made a discussion about the plan.✓ We had a discussion about the plan.З іменником discussion вживаємо дієслово have, а не make.
- ✗ There was a sharp raise in prices.✓ There was a sharp rise in prices.Зростання цін — rise, а іменник raise означає підвищення зарплати.
- ✗ The increase of prices was rapid.✓ The increase in prices was rapid.Після іменника increase зміну чогось передаємо прийменником in.
- ✗ We made a research on the topic.✓ We did research on the topic.З іменником research вживаємо дієслово do, а не make, і цей іменник не має артикля a.
