İsimleştirme (nominalisation)
İsimleştirme, fiil ve sıfatları isme dönüştürür. Yazıyı daha resmî, yoğun ve nesnel yapar; bu yüzden akademik ve iş İngilizcesinde çok kullanılır.

- -tion / -sion: decide → decision, reduce → reduction
- -ment: develop → development, improve → improvement
- -ance / -ence: perform → performance, exist → existence
- -ity / -ness: able → ability, aware → awareness
- Aynı biçim: increase, change, rise, delay, use

- ✗ There has been an improve in sales.✓ There has been an improvement in sales.İsim -ment ile yapılır: improve → improvement. Türkçedeki “satışlarda iyileşme” isim hâlini kolayca kurar.
- ✗ Our decide depends on the budget.✓ Our decision depends on the budget.Decide fiilinin ismi decision’dır. Fiili isim yerine kullanmak cümleyi bozar.
- ✗ The arrive of the guests was delayed.✓ The arrival of the guests was delayed.Arrive’ın ismi arrival’dır. Türkçedeki “misafirlerin gelişi” -iş ekiyle kurulur, İngilizcede ayrı bir kelime gerekir.
- ✗ The develop of the city was fast.✓ The development of the city was fast.Develop fiilinin ismi development’tır: the development of the city. Türkçedeki “şehrin gelişmesi” -me ekiyle kurulur.
