Непрямі питання (Can you tell me where…?)
Непрямі питання звучать ввічливіше. Після вступної фрази — звичайний порядок слів, як у ствердженні: без інверсії та без do / does / did.

Типові помилки
- ✗ I don’t know that he will come or not.✓ I don’t know whether he will come or not.Питання «чи» в непрямій мові вводимо словом whether, а не that.
- ✗ I don’t know what does he want.✓ I don’t know what he wants.У непрямому питанні допоміжне do або does не вживаємо.
- ✗ Do you know where does she live?✓ Do you know where she lives?Після where в непрямому питанні підмет стоїть перед дієсловом: where she lives.
- ✗ I wonder what time is it.✓ I wonder what time it is.У непрямому питанні підмет стоїть перед дієсловом: what time it is.
- ✗ I don’t know do they come.✓ I don’t know if they are coming.Для «чи» в непрямому питанні вживаємо if або whether.
