Edatlı fiiller ve sıfatlar
Birçok fiil ve sıfat sabit bir edat alır; bu, Türkçedeki hâl eklerine denk gelir ama çoğu zaman farklıdır. Birlikte öğrenin: depend on (-A bağlı olmak), interested in (-lA ilgilenmek).

Sık yapılan hatalar
- ✗ It depends from the price.✓ It depends on the price.Depend her zaman on alır: depend on. Türkçedeki “fiyata bağlı” yapısındaki -e eki from’a çevrilmez.
- ✗ I am interested about history.✓ I am interested in history.Interested sabit olarak in alır: interested in history. Türkçedeki “tarihle ilgileniyorum” bu edatı göstermez.
- ✗ Thanks for help me.✓ Thanks for helping me.Edattan sonra fiil -ing olur: thanks for helping me. Yalın fiil for’dan sonra gelmez.
- ✗ What are you looking?✓ What are you looking at?Look sabit olarak at alır ve soruda bu edat sona gider: what are you looking at?
- ✗ I am good in maths.✓ I am good at maths.Bir konuda iyi olmak good at ile söylenir. Türkçedeki “matematikte iyiyim” yapısındaki -de eki in’e çevrilmez.
