should have, could have, needn’t have
kip + have + geçmiş ortaç geçmişten söz eder: pişmanlık, sitem, kaçırılan fırsatlar ve gereksiz eylemler.

- ✗ I should bought the tickets earlier.✓ I should have bought the tickets earlier.Geçmişle ilgili pişmanlıkta should have + geçmiş ortaç kullanılır: should have bought. Türkçedeki “daha erken almalıydım” buna karşılık gelir.
- ✗ You should have call me.✓ You should have called me.Have’den sonra geçmiş ortaç gelir: should have called. Yalın fiil burada yanlıştır.
- ✗ We needn’t take a taxi, the station was close.✓ We needn’t have taken a taxi, the station was close.Gereksiz yere yapılmış bir şey needn’t have + geçmiş ortaç ile söylenir: we needn’t have taken.
- ✗ You mustn’t have shouted at him.✓ You shouldn’t have shouted at him.Geçmişe yönelik sitem shouldn’t have ile söylenir. Mustn’t have bu anlamda kullanılmaz; Türkçedeki “bağırmamalıydın” buna denk gelir.
- ✗ I could have came earlier.✓ I could have come earlier.Could have’den sonra geçmiş ortaç gelir: come, came değil. Came past simple biçimidir.
