Partizipialsätze (Having finished…, Feeling tired…)
Partizipialsätze machen Sätze kürzer, besonders schriftlich. Sie ersetzen Nebensätze mit when, because, after, wenn beide Teile dasselbe Subjekt haben.
| Form | Bedeutung | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|
| -ing | gleichzeitig / Grund | Feeling tired, I went to bed early. |
| having + participle | vorher | Having finished work, she went home. |
| past participle | passiv | Built in 1900, the house needs repairs. |

- ✗ Written in simple English, I understood the book.✓ Written in simple English, the book was easy to understand.Der Satzteil bezieht sich auf das Buch, also muss das Buch Subjekt des Hauptsatzes sein, nicht I.
- ✗ Having not finished the work, he stayed.✓ Not having finished the work, he stayed.Die Verneinung steht im Partizipialsatz vor having, also Not having finished und nicht Having not finished.
- ✗ Feeling tired, so I went to bed.✓ Feeling tired, I went to bed.Ein Partizipialsatz wird nicht mit so an den Hauptsatz angeschlossen, sondern steht mit Komma davor.
