Typische Fehler

  • ✗ It is to hot.✓ It is too hot.Das deutsche zu schreibt man im Englischen too, während to eine andere Bedeutung hat.
  • ✗ I have too many work.✓ I have too much work.Work ist unzählbar, deshalb steht too much und nicht too many.
  • ✗ The tea is too hot to drink it.✓ The tea is too hot to drink.Nach too + Adjektiv + Infinitiv wiederholt man das Objekt nicht, weil es schon klar ist.
  • ✗ The soup is not enough hot.✓ The soup is not hot enough.Enough steht nach dem Adjektiv und nicht davor, obwohl man im Deutschen nicht genug heiß sagt.
  • ✗ There is too few time.✓ There is too little time.Time ist unzählbar, deshalb heißt es too little und nicht too few.
