Ejemplos

- We are hungry.Tenemos hambre.
- Is the shop open?¿Está abierta la tienda?

Errores comunes
- ✗ I have hunger.✓ I am hungry.En español se dice «tengo hambre», pero en inglés el hambre se expresa con to be: I am hungry.
- ✗ Is cold today.✓ It is cold today.El inglés necesita sujeto en todas las frases, por eso se dice It is cold y no solo is cold como en español hace frío.
- ✗ I am agree.✓ I agree.Agree ya es un verbo, así que no lleva am delante, a diferencia del español estoy de acuerdo.
- ✗ My mother is teacher.✓ My mother is a teacher.En español se dice mi madre es profesora sin artículo, pero en inglés la profesión lleva a o an.
- ✗ I no am tired.✓ I am not tired.La negación not va después del verbo to be y no antes, como el no español de no estoy cansado.
